At the Anthony Muñoz Foundation getting the community involved is an essential part of what we do and internships are a great way to get college students involved! This year for the spring semester we have four interns from Miami University and Xavier University!

Shelbi Felblinger

I’m a freshman at Miami University studying strategic communications. Last year I was involved in the Youth Leadership Seminar with Talawanda High School, “Unplug Bullying and Plug into Kindness.” Talawanda’s FCCLA went to the middle school to promote anti-bullying and got involved with the students. Because of the Service Challenge I was able to connect with the community and I look forward to continuing this within the Foundation.

“I’m excited to be involved with the Foundation but this time working first hand with all the Service Challenge projects!”

I am a junior at Xavier University studying management and Spanish. I’m from Phoenix, Arizona. The reason I wanted to take on an internship with the Anthony Muñoz Foundation is that I wanted to see the impact of the work I’m doing with the Foundation and I love working with the kids.

“I’m excited for the opportunities and experiences of the internship!”

I am currently a senior at Xavier University majoring in Marketing with a minor in Entrepreneurship from Indianapolis, Indiana. Previously I have worked for various kinds of companies, including concert marketing, retail and for an athletic department. I wanted to work for AMF because I have always loved sports and helping people, therefore it was a great way to combine the two things.

“I hope to gain a job in sports marketing or event marketing/ planning and I thought this would be a great company to expand my knowledge.”

I am a senior at Xavier studying Public Relations.  I am originally from Minnesota. I wanted to work for AMF because I have worked for various non-profits in the Cincinnati area and I have enjoyed knowing that my work is making a difference.

” I hope to continue my non-profit work in Cincinnati after graduation so this internship is a great experience and is helping me get more knowledge about non-profits.”

The interns are a huge help in the foundation when it comes to planning, organizing and reaching out in the community. Some of the projects they’re currently working on are “Whiz Kids”, “Straight A Scholarship”, “Impact For Eternity”, “Youth Leadership Service Challenge Projects”, and the Auction. They’re all very excited to be a part of the Foundation!
